Accounts Payable Specialist (Vancouver)

 

About Us

BGC Engineering Inc. in downtown Vancouver is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract starting immediately. The qualified applicant will be a bright, organized and motivated individual with strong communication skills. They should be able to demonstrate that they are a team player who can support the day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable needs of the Accounting group. The successful candidate will gain valuable industry experience working in the head office of a multinational Engineering firm.

About the Role

  • Coding and entering vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable module of MIS
  • Reviewing and posting employee expense claims
  • Responding to various inquires from vendors and staff
  • Reconcile and resolve accounts payable discrepancies
  • Compiling invoice disbursement back-up
  • Posting Accounts Receivable cash receipts
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain vendor files

About You

  • Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment
  • Post Secondary education in Accounting
  • Experience with accounting software is an asset
  • Attention to detail, strong organization and multitasking skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
