Junior to Intermediate Engineer

 

BGC’s Golden and Montrose offices are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Geotechnical or Geological Engineer.  The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, relevant work experience, and a desire to travel and work in diverse and remote conditions.

Candidates shall possess a relevant undergraduate degree in Civil (Geotechnical) or Geological Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, or a related field. A post-graduate degree is desirable. A fundamental understanding of Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geomorphology, or Mining Engineering and Mine Waste Management, as well as proven communication skills, are essential..

Professional Profile

  • Minimum of a bachelor degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related discipline;
  • Minimum 2 years of consulting experience;
  • Currently registered as an EIT or PE;
  • Available for travel and fieldwork, potentially in remote settings;
  • Excellent oral and written communicator; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Desired Attributes and Knowledge

  • Strong leadership skills;
  • A self-starter with a keen desire to contribute to technical excellence in a “one team” environment;
  • Fundamental knowledge of Geotechnical Design, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology, Soil mechanics, Hydrogeology, Rock Mechanics, Field Mapping and Air Photo interpretation;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Ability to prepare, present, and peer-review reports and engineering drawings.
